Next level of service

Leapfrog to next level of litigation clerkship

1. Pursuing excellence at fundamental level of service - document preparation

2. Currently -

a) Preparing documents drafted by lawyers
b) Drafting simple or not so simple docs

3. Q: if documents are our products, who are consumer/user of our products -
judges, clients, lawyers, ourselves.

4. Primary concern: judges. Consumers can tell how much efforts we put in document preparation.

5. My experience as judge for MMU Moot

6. We r doing fine but can b improved - fundamental level of service in litigation

7. Need Secretaries to take care of small things - do the small things right n the big things will fall into place

8. Arranging documents in reverse chronological order - difficulty in finding documents. Saving time = $

9. Hole punching - centre. Anyone who don't do this gets an apple.

10. Numbering - 2 numbers on 1 page; black spot; no numbering

11. Bundlle of authorities - margin, illegible.

12. Subs with my comments not erased - escaped 2 pairs of eyes

13. Alignment n spacing - consistency

14. Punctuation - consistency

15. exhibits - numbering

16. Content - use precedents in eLibrary - constant change. keep abreast of changes.

18. Apple is known for taking care of small little things
