GE 15 19.11.2022
My wife and I were at Mahkota Medical Centre this morning. The doctor told us his feeling after result of GE14 was out: Never before was I so proud to be a Malaysian! Though he was disappointed with what happened in 2020, he said: We must still go out to vote tomorrow. His wife asked him to be PACA but he can't as he may be required to go back to hospital at anytime.
A lady then came in to the clinic and asked the nurse: "May I postpone my chemo session to Monday?" "Why?" "I want to vote tomorrow. I am afraid if I do today, I will feel giddy tomorrow." "Ok, you come on Monday." After she left, the nurse talked to other nurses: "Mata dia hampir tak boleh nampak lagi!" The other nurse responded: "Aiyo, masih nak mengundi!"
I was then at Mahkota Parade. While waiting for the shopkeeper to fix something for me, a lady came in and we started talking about the election. She came back from KL to vote tomorrow. The shopkeeper ended up doing it for free.
A friend of mine who has migrated to Melbourne got his postal vote only on Tuesday. One of these volunteers carried his ballot paper back to Malaysia, hopefully in time to be counted.
For us who are voting in Melaka, there is no reason for us not to go out to vote tomorrow.
Jom, mari kita pergi mengundi!
